On October 10, 2020, Life Magnetics is announcing a call for collaborations for at-home urine testing. With the success of products like Cologuard and the need for at-home saliva-based COVID-19 testing, the company is piloting a product for RNA-testing from urine samples. The company is currently engaged with two successful and promising pilot studies for prostate cancer and kidney transplant rejection testing. The projects have been so successful that we’re launching an e-mail campaign to identify additional opportunities. Previous studies on RNA-based urine testing have found that while micro RNA’s (miRNA) are stable, mRNA which are frequently used for data normalization are not stable. The product offered by Life Magnetics, Inc. allows for room temperature shipping and storage of urine samples with no degradation of either short or long transcripts. For the patient, the collection is a single step, add 500 ul of sample, close, and ship.
