On July 21, 2020, Life Magnetics and Rapid Biosense completed a collaboration to set up a CLIA laboratory for COVID-19 testing to address the need for additional testing capacity. John Cunningham, CEO of Rapid Biosense, and Dr. Kevin Hagedorn, CEO of Life Magnetics, were happy to announce the completion of the project at the Michigan Life Science and Innovation Center (MLSIC) in Plymouth, Michigan. This marks the first clinical use for the Life Magnetics, Inc.’s carbon magnetic beads and will help support COVID-19 testing in Michigan.
Kevin graduated from the University of Michigan where he received a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Chemistry with a focus on Semiconductor Surface Chemistry. In 2015, Kevin started Life Magnetics, Inc. with Saravana Murthy. Kevin developed the manufacturing method used to create Life Magnetics’ products and currently oversees manufacturing and business development. Kevin also has five peer-reviewed publications, and seven issued patents.
