What is magnetic bead-based RNA extraction / isolation?
Magnetic bead-based RNA extraction / isolation utilizes beads coated with oligo(dT) (or other RNA-specific probes) to capture RNA molecules. The beads are then collected - typically by using a magnetic field - and washed. After this, RNA is released from the beads. Bead-based extraction methods excel in achieving quicker extractions, higher purity, better yields, and more.
How does carbon-based isolation compare to silica isolation? Why is carbon-based isolation better?
We work with carbon-based RNA extraction & isolation kits for many reasons. First, carbon-based RNA extraction/isolation is more efficient compared to silica-based methods.
