Life Magnetics’ RNA extraction & isolation kits are used for a wide variety of applications, mainly for extracting high yield, high purity RNA from a range of sample types (biological, wastewater, etc.).
Magnetic bead-based RNA extraction / isolation utilizes beads coated with oligo(dT) (or other RNA-specific probes) to capture RNA molecules. The beads are then collected – typically by using a magnetic field – and washed. After this, RNA is released from the beads. Bead-based extraction methods excel in achieving quicker extractions, higher purity, better yields, and more.
We work with carbon-based RNA extraction & isolation kits for many reasons. First, carbon-based RNA extraction/isolation is more efficient compared to silica-based methods. Life Magnetics’ C-Prep RNA extraction/isolation methods utilize carbon-based magnetic beads that have a higher binding capacity and are able to bind to a much wider range of nucleic acids.
